What's Biting Right Now?
December 2017 Homosassa Fishing Action
December is a peak winter month for redfish fishing in Homosassa. These cool weather lovers will be active on the flats and backcountry water systems here on the nature coast. Best part is, the big ones are here!
Another species peaking in December is Sea Trout. These snaggletooth fish will be blasting the surface from over the grass flats and can usually be found alongside redfish in the area.
The Snook bite will nearly turned off, with the exception of opportunities after some days of warmer weather. These fish have been scattered up the west coast of Florida into areas where they are usually not found. So we expect those fish to migrate back this way as the panhandle starts seeing extremely low temps this week.
January 2018 Outlook
We are still looking at decent redfish and trout fishing, and we may see opportunities for Black Drum as well.
