The best word to describe the month of May fishing in Homosassa is CRAZY!!! With all the rain and unseasonal cooler weather the Trout bite has been a little on the tough side. My best days this month has come in deeper water well to the south 9 to 12 feet using 1/4 jig heads with 5inch Miro lure provokers work very slow. CHECK OUT THE MIRO-LURE KITCHEN SINK COLOR! The red fish bite has not been disappointing at all this month many of oversize fish coming boat side 30 to 34 inch fish has been the norm. They are eager to feed on free lined shrimp, pinfish. The best tides that have worked for me was the first hour of the outgoing tide and the first hour of the incoming tide. Cobias have been very eager to take pinfish under a cork on the shallow rocks this month with the largest coming to the boat at 50# range. If you have never site fished these fish you are missing out.
