Bayport Scalloping

The limit of scallops is 2 gallons per person per day and not more than 10 gallons per boat per day.

​This destination nestled within Hernando County is world renowned for the scalloping season. Our Bayport Scalloping Captains are some of the best at hunting down these treasures. Scallops settle themselves in the grass beds along the Nature Coast every summer and spawn. After the spawning process scallop hunters take to the water to fill up on these delicacies of this shallow water Bayport fishery.

All you need is a mask, snorkel, and fins to jump in the crystal clear sea-grass flats at a water depth of 3 to 6 feet and experience the adventure of diving for scallops. This is a vacation favorite for families and friends.

Rates & Information

Hernando County Scalloping Charter (4-Hours):

• $450 for 4 people; $50 each additional person up to a total of 6 people
• Able to accommodate groups larger than 6​​​ upon request
• AM and PM trips available
• AM Trips typically leave around 8 AM
• PM trips typically leave around 1 PM

Items provided by the Captain during charter:

• Scenic Tour
• State required fishing license
• Sanitized masks & snorkels
• Fins
• Bounty bags
• ​Coolers for food/drink & separate cooler for scallops
• Bottles water
